Linguistic analysis for complex ontology matching
نویسندگان
چکیده
Current ontology matching techniques focus on detecting correspondences between atomic concepts and properties. Nevertheless, it is necessary and possible to detect correspondences between complex concept or property descriptions. In this paper, we demonstrate how complex matching can benefit from natural language processing techniques, and propose an enriched set of correspondence patterns leveraging linguistic matching conditions. After elaborating on the integration of methods for the linguistic analysis of textual labels with an existing framework for detecting complex correspondences, we present the results of an experimental evaluation on an OAEI dataset. The results of our experiments indicate a large increase of precision as compared to the original approach, which was based on similarity measures and thresholds.

Strawson’s conception of analysis as a ‘connective linguistic analysis’ makes it possible for him to achieve an indefinitely large range of ideas or concepts among them are certain numbers of fundamental, general and pervasive concepts or concept-types which not only are pre-theoretical or ahistorical, but also together constitute a structural framework only within whichlogic, ontology and epis...
متن کاملCentralized Clustering Method To Increase Accuracy In Ontology Matching Systems
Ontology is the main infrastructure of the Semantic Web which provides facilities for integration, searching and sharing of information on the web. Development of ontologies as the basis of semantic web and their heterogeneities have led to the existence of ontology matching. By emerging large-scale ontologies in real domain, the ontology matching systems faced with some problem like memory con...
متن کاملAn Effective Similarity Propagation Method for Matching Ontologies without Sufficient or Regular Linguistic Information
Most existing ontology matching methods are based on the linguistic information. However, some ontologies have not sufficient or regular linguistic information such as natural words and comments, so the linguistic-based methods can not work. Structure-based methods are more practical for this situation. Similarity propagation is a feasible idea to realize the structure-based matching. But tradi...
متن کاملA Structure-Based Similarity Spreading Approach for Ontology Matching
Most of the frequently used ontology mapping methods to date are based on linguistic information implied in ontologies. However, same concepts in different ontologies can represent different semantics under the context of different ontologies, so relationships on mapping cannot be solely recognized by applying linguistic information. Discovering and utilizing structural information in ontology ...
متن کاملA similarity measure based on semantic, terminological and linguistic information
Introduction The fundamental task of ontology matching is based on measuring the similarity between two ontology concepts [1]. However, we argue that a deeper semantic, terminological and linguistic analysis of specialized domain vocabularies is needed in order to establish a more sophisticated similarity measure that caters for the specific characteristics of this data. In particular we propos...
